FM2009 Coach Calculator Released

Well, to get my JavaScript skills going down and to give the Football Manager community a handy tool I’ve created an FM2009 Coach Calculator.

Please let me know your thoughts, I may add more functionality too it in the future but the core functionality is there. Please note this is only a beta, so please report and bugs, inconveniences or improvements you note in the comments here.

p.s. If I find time next year I will be updating this for FM2010, and that will most likely be found at the same address, but in ‘fm2010′ rather than ‘fm2009′.

Now includes hover functionality that indicates the formula involved for each skill set.

    Cheers, let me be the first one to congratulate you on your work! I have seen other people who have done similar FM9.03 coach calculators (in excel and website with Javascript…) but your work is more complete!

    One obvious Improvement would be a reset tab (if there is one, I can’t find it).

    RE: Solid Gone, if you hit F5 on your keyboard it should reset all the stats for you.

    More improvements, suggestions and bug feedback more than welcome.

    Worth noting that I’ve had to disable the enter button from doing anything as on Chrome it submitted the form and refreshed the page, ruining everything :).

    Tabs the way forward.

    I was wondering maybe you could add a save button where we can browse our calculations?

    Example:

    Coach name: xx xxxx (Input by the user)
    Coach Nationality: yyyyyyy (Input by the user)
    Coach Main ablitity: (Calculated)
    Coach Secondary Abillity: (Calculated)
    Coach Stars: (Calculated)

    Therefore we can search for coaches we have already calculated, saving time…

    Maybe incorporate a login area where all the calculations are save and easily browsed via:
    1) Coach Name
    2) Coach Nationality
    3) Type of coach(main) (eg. tactical or attacking)
    4) type of coach(secondary): (eg. tactical or attacking)
    5) amount of stars
    6) even certain stats that have been input in to the fields (eg. tactical)

    Just some ideas i threw together that may make the coach calculatior even better for FM2010..

    I like the idea and think that would certainly be a benefit to some out there. The way it would have to be done would be with a database and PHP. That’s not my forte and would take quite a lot of work, but if I ever want to develop further I’ll look into it.
